“Snowy Path” 16×16” original pastel, painted on an archival suede surface after a morning spent snowshoeing at a nearby trail, a favorite place for me. I was struck by the myriad colors on this winter day: whites, grays, blues of course - but also pinks, oranges, and so many purples!

A professor once stressed the importance of making your painted marks showcase different calligraphic qualities and this piece is when I really understood this idea and had fun with the design of the shrubs and trees.
